My name is Keshet Lavoux and I’m a SLO native and proud Cal Poly Alumni. With a former career in technical and financial Recruiting, I realized my true love was art and how beautiful the world is. I’m inspired by poet Mary Oliver, who says " Tell me what it is you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”.
I have a wide range of mediums I create in, including jewelry making, sewing, DIY homemade beauty products, craft fairs, and of course mixed media painting. I currently homeschool my children part time and make something every week with my very talented and creative daughter. We both believe you should "Create something beautiful everyday.”
I have always enjoyed making things since I was a little girl. I was always making something, whether it was sewing pillows, making purses, or outfits for my bears. I still have that 8 year old girl inside me who whispers to me daily to come out and play.
My word for this year is ‘Play’. My style in teaching children is very free flowing. Mixed media is so much fun because there aren’t any thoughts of, “Am I doing this right?" It is your masterpiece and you get to make it however you like.
